The Research and Postgraduate Studies Institute of the Faculty of Health Sciences celebrates the arrival of two new researchers who are joining the staff dedicated to basic and applied sciences. Dr. Andrea Riedemann Fuentes and Dr. Alejandro Vega have been part of our team at UCEN since mid-August. Dr. Riedemann is a Sociologist from the Pontifical Catholic University, Master in Intercultural Education, and Doctor in Historical and Cultural Sciences from the Free University of Berlin. Her areas of specialization are issues related to cultural diversity, interculturality, and anti-racist education. Currently, she is researching university access for young Latin Americans who now reside in Chile permanently after their migratory processes or those of their families. In the future, she plans to investigate the possibilities the current school system offers to introduce anti-racist education. On the other hand, Dr. Vega is a Maritime Port Engineer from the Catholic University of the Holy Conception. He has a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Concepción, an MBA from the University of Lleida, a Doctorate in Business Sciences from the Antonio de Nebrija University, Spain, and a Postdoctoral Degree in Psychology from the University of Flores, Argentina. He is a specialist in scientometric, psychometric and systematic review methods. Currently, he is developing research focused on behavioral studies and education about the intensive use of technologies and human mobility.
Andrea Riedemann points out, “we expect to contribute to research and teaching on how the growing cultural diversity is challenging the Chilean educational system. Also, we expect to contribute with proposals so that this coexistence remains within a framework of respect for human rights." Alejandro Vega stated that he was very motivated by his integration into the Facsalud institute. "I hope to contribute to the line of research of Childhood, Diversity, and Human Development with mainstream publications regarding studies of human behavior in the educational context in the face of the tensions produced by the intensive use of technologies and the various forms of mobility." Both researchers join the work of the research line: Childhood, Diversity, and Human Development of the Research and Postgraduate Studies Institute. |
El Instituto de Investigación y Postgrado de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, celebra el arribo de dos nuevos investigadores que suman al staff de personas dedicados a las ciencias básicas y aplicadas. Desde mediados de agosto que ya se encuentran en la UCEN, la Dra. Andrea Riedemann Fuentes y el Dr. Alejandro Vega. La Dra. Riedemann, es Socióloga de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, Master en Educación Intercultural y Doctora en Ciencias Históricas y Culturales de la Universidad Libre de Berlín. Su ámbito de especialización son los temas relativos a diversidad cultural, interculturalidad y educación antirracista. Actualmente, se encuentra investigando sobre el acceso a la universidad de los jóvenes latinoamericanos. que tras los procesos migratorios de sus familias o propios ahora residen en Chile de manera permanente, y más adelante tiene planes de investigar sobre las posibilidades que brinda el sistema escolar actual para introducir la educación antirracista. En tanto, el Dr. Vega es Ingeniero Marítimo Portuario de la Universidad Católica de la Santisima Concepción. Es Magíster en Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad de Concepción, MBA de la Universidad de Lleida, Doctor en Ciencias Empresariales de la Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, España, y Postdoctor en Psicología de la Universidad de Flores, Argentina. Es especialista en métodos cienciométricos, psicométricos y de revisión sistemática. Actualmente, desarrolla una investigación centrada en los estudios del comportamiento y educación en relación con el uso intensivo de tecnologías y movilidad humana. En cuanto a sus expectativas, Andrea Riedemann señala que “se espera aportar tanto con investigación y docencia acerca de cómo la creciente diversidad cultural está desafiando al sistema educativo chileno, como con propuestas para que esta convivencia se de siempre en un marco de respeto a los derechos humanos”. Por su parte, Alejandro Vega manifestó estar muy motivado con su integración al instituto de la Facsalud. “Espero aportar a la investigación en línea de Infancia, Diversidad y Desarrollo Humano con publicaciones de corriente principal respecto estudios del comportamiento humano en el contexto educativo frente a las tensiones producidas por el uso intensivo de tecnologías y las diversas formas de movilidad”. Ambos investigadores, se suman al trabajo de la línea de investigación: Infancia, Diversidad y Desarrollo Humano del Instituto de Investigación y Postgrado.
